Yoshikawa, who works for a travel agency, visits a once-prosperous suburban town now showing little sign of life, with empty streets and shuttered shops. During her visit, she walks along a nearby riverbank and meets Doi, a man quietly skipping stones.
Though their first encounter is somewhat awkward, they begin spending time together as Doi introduces simple games by the river. Gradually, Yoshikawa lets go of her work and becomes absorbed in their shared world—searching for “favorite stones,” playing with branches, and rediscovering a childlike sense of time.
As the sun sets, the film gently invites us back to childhood, reminding us how rarely we experience such rich, unhurried moments.
