The true story of Shuichi Tsubata, a 90-year-old architect, and his 87-year-old wife, Hideko. They live in a single-story house designed by Shuichi himself. He grows vegetables and fruit in his garden, harvests them, and makes a living from them.
About fifty years ago, Shuichi dreamed of building sustainable homes in harmony with the surrounding nature, but he was forced to abandon his plans due to prevailing economic priorities in the area. Eventually, he quit his job, purchased land, and built his dream house for himself and his wife.
Life is Fruity is a documentary film that became a sensation in Japan.
