Diagnosed with leprosy at the age of ten, Kazue Miyazaki has lived for eighty years in a sanatorium on Nagashima Island — a place she describes as both paradise and hell. Despite the hardships of her condition, she has built a life in harmony with nature, living with her husband in a seaside married couples’ dormitory within the community.

Charming and endlessly curious, she continues to embrace new challenges: learning to use a computer at the age of 78 and publishing her first book at 84.

A deeply moving documentary that paints an intimate portrait of a woman of quiet strength and a life filled with vitality.
